Announcing NYEBN's 1st networking event in February. We are going to La Pomme, a high-end networking venue located in the heart of Chelsea. The venue is exclusively set up for our event from 6-10 PM. I've been there twice and the space looks perfect for our networking purposes. We have some big announcements to make at this event. Please read carefully.

1. Award Ceremony (6:30 - 6:45 PM)

The award ceremony lasts for 15 minutes. We will do this in a fast and efficient way. The purpose is to reward the winners for the January affiliate program. If you are new and not familiar with the NYEBN affiliate program, read it here.

2. Theme

Business oriented. Formal business attire required. RSVP is a must to make it a free event. For people not on the RSVP list, a charge of $10 will apply at the door. As a member, your one guest (+1) can come for free.

3. Name Tags

The old rule still holds. We will continue to mandate high quality name tags at our networking events. If you don't already have a plastic name tag holder, you will need to purchase one when you check in for $1 each. As you can see from the 230 Fifth pictures, the plastic name tags do look better on everybody.

4. Drink Specials/Snacks

$6 wine/beer/sangria; $8 whiskey sour/mimosa; Light bar snacks are provided on a complimentary basis.

5. Others

You must be 21 or older to attend this event. Make sure you bring your ID with you. If you do not want to wait in the line, print out the reminder email (with YES RSVP) or your own RSVP page (a sample) so you can get in immediately. Just like you, we don't want to see you waitng in long lines.

6. Vendors (sold out)

No spots left. Please contact Sue Risdal at Susan at WebStudio13 dot com to request a table for future events.

7. Venue

La pomme, or ‘the apple’ in French, is the proverbial forbidden fruit: pure and simple, but with an underlying element of sensuality and taboo. Located at 37 West 26th Street in the heart of Chelsea, La Pomme event space brings the diverse contextual meanings of its name to life in a space that is at once streamlined and subversive, wide-eyed but wicked. This 3,500 square foot venue combines high-style design and grand décor with ‘Fellini-esque” elements of debaucherous mystery to create an imaginative and raucous metropolitan escape.

Note: La Pomme has held networking events for Yahoo and iVillage before. Plus, the light can be turned all the way up inside the venue.

I thought it was a great event event meet with some great people who had interesting ideas. In the future NYBEN should use mobile technologies and Notification to get the word out about and for events.

Raphael, it is our policy to welcome all -- even those who have not been able to RSVP in time. Please look for or ask for me when you come in; I am in charge of collecting the $10 from those not on the list.

We have exciting new vendors and a great venue. This should turn out to be one of our best events to date.

Who attended?

  • 367 attendees
    •  It had an interesting mixture of career professional, from Attorneys to IT Professionals. It certainly was worth the effort, and made some interesting connections - also well run
    •  Interesting venue - a little tight for the crowd - would have been too small if everyone came. Appropriate vendor tables, very outgoing and gracious group of attendees, good wine at reasonable price. Andrew played the role of host and emcee very well as usual. Attendees mingled well, easily included people in conversations, represented a dynamic and engaging cross-section of entrepreneurs, support businesses and informational interest groups.
    •  The room was just in the perfect size so you can walk around and be able to see clearly the name tags and interact nicely with new people.
    •  An enriching experience.
    • Independent Associate, Pre-Paid Legal Services
I met many nice and interesting people with new ideas and technologies.
    •  made somegood contacts. Was able to get the word out.
    •  Well organized group where you can meet people in a variety of fields and have the time to actually have a conversation.
    •  It was awesome. I had met some fabulous people that I can see myself hanging out with other than doing business.
    •  Andrew Wong has become an incredible Connector. His events are well run, well attended and well worth attending. Last night, I overcame feeling of just wanting to go home, but instead went the NYEBN Entrepreneur Networking Event at La Pomme NYC and met 7 new leads for my Sales Coaching.
    • Chief Photography Officer
It's good to get in the habit of making comments and tagging your photos to identify who you are. Why do that? Have you googled your name lately? You will notice that your activities through NYEBN get posted on google, thus creating and increasing exposure to yourself. This is free advertising.
    •  It was one of the best networking events I've ever attended. It was obvious that the organizers know how to run successful events.
    •  LaPomme was small for this group, although our group is so comfortable with each other and so welcoming to new members, the close quarters didn't matter.
    •  Very good organized.
    • Pearl (+1 guest)
