Announcing NYEBN's October Rooftop Business Reception. This time we are going to 230 Fifth (Scroll down to read information about the venue). It is free. And as always, I will try to get the best price for our members as far as drinks are concerned.

Here are a couple things I've broken down for your reference:

1) Theme

Business-oriented. Business attire please and bring enough business cards. No sneakers or torn jeans.

2) Who Should Attend?

Entrepreneurs, business people, business/social networkers, job hunters, people who want to expand their influence and networks. You must be at least 21 to enter the venue. So bring your photo ID. Make sure you belong to NYEBN and on the RSVP list in order to get the free admission. Of course, you are welcome to bring many guests as a member.

3) Admission

Free!

NYEBN will be 5-month-old by Oct. 13. So this event is a special mark for our group. Most importantly, come enjoy the stunning views on the rooftop. I'm sure you have heard of great things about this venue. Pictures and a brief introduction about the venue are included as follows.

230 Fifth is Manhattan’s Largest and Most Spectacular Year-Round, Heated Rooftop Garden Bar and Enclosed Penthouse Lounge.

Open 365 days year-round, ‘come rain or come sehin’ (or come snow) to enjoy palm trees and spectacular 360° views of all of Manhattan at Manhattan’s most spectacular Rooftop Garden Bar and fully enclosed Penthouse Lounge!

Since ‘230 FIFTH’s’ opening in May of 2006:

• Voted #1 Rooftop Bar by NBCnewyork.com
• Voted #1 by the Editors of CitySearch for Best New Bars/Lounges in New York City
• Voted #2 Best New Bar/Lounge in the United States by CitySearch
• Voted #1 thing “To Do” in New York by Spur, Japan’s leading fashion magazine (ahead of Vogue, etc.).

The outdoor Rooftop Garden is heated for the cooler Fall and Spring days or the coldest winter days! This is in addition to 230 FIFTH’s signature hooded red fleece robes and heavy wool blankets that guests are free to use.

Enclosed Penthouse Lounge

Open 365 days a year, the supersized and luxurious enclosed Penthouse Lounge is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows with breathtaking panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline.

The Food at ‘230 FIFTH’

Besides offering a full bar menu, ‘230 FIFTH’ also offers a full dinner menu (serving food, 365 days year-round, from 4:00PM – 4:00AM), which was created by renowned chef Zak Pelaccio who has been featured numerous times in The New York Times ‘Dining Out’ section.

For additional photos and information, please visit 230 FIFTH’s website, http://www.230-fifth.....

Note: The networking reception goes on rain or shine. If it rains, the Penthouse Lounge is big enough to accommodate us. RSVP starts now. Feel free to bring one or two of your friends.

I think we just had the best turnout ever. Keep going, NYEBNers! I know it would have been better if we could network on the rooftop, but the wind was kinda heavy. Thank you for your feedback and your participation in the 230 Fifth Event!

    •  You did it again Andrew. Thanks for organizing a Network....

great uplifting venue. definitely very accommodating. there was enough room to spread out, meet new people, and reconnect with friends
    •  This was my first one. I thought it was a great event, and I met several interesting people. Unfortunately I couldn't stay very long bc I had another event I had to go to. I look forward to attending another event!
    •  Good attendance. Great venue. My objective was to meet and talk to small business owners reaging their employee benefit programs. Many of the people in attendance were sole proprietors and people actually looking for employment. Perhaps future meetups could be more defined and directed to a specific demographic group. Thank you.

Great venue. I met several potential business partner and clients. There was a good mix of people with varying backgrounds.
    •  It was a really great event. I could not stay long but I did get to connect with quite a few people. The venue was great - really nice.
    • Victor Silvestre (+2 guests)
Excellent, So many people, so little time. It was a lot of fun and I got to meet a lot of interesting people. Thanks Andrew
    •  I would like to netwrok with more industry specific relationships rather then just all business industries.
    •  Everyone was generous and kind, much sharing of ideas and information. Warm and friendly, lots of smiles. A great evening, thank you.
    •  In the past 4 years I have never seen so many active people who wanted to have new contacts! Great! Thank you, Andrew. It was my second event with NYEBN.
    •  I was there for 3 hours, gave out 25 or so business cards, collected 19. Of those 19, 5 seems interested in doing business together soon. That's a pretty good result for a 3 hour schmooze.
    • Michelle Howard (+1 guest)
The mix of business owners was vast which made for great mingling. Suggestion would be to maybe have a speaker for 10-15 minutes. Also, I had to turn on the fan, it was so hot in there!

We arrived a bit late, but still valuable to attend. It was very well organized. People were networking. Many various types of entrepreneurs, mostly those striving to become successful. As evening progressed, seemed to be more of a social event than business.
    •  professional, receptive crowd of business people looking to make connections and have fun in the process
    • Sabrina Whiteman (+2 guests)
Check in was a little frazzled but other than that I loved the venue even though it was a bit dark and it got quite warm. I am really impressed with the diversity of attendees. It has been the most useful networking event I have gone to where people are attentive and thoughtful.
    •  Good place to meet, great views, lots of high energy. Need a greater mix of attendees. Most peole were in finance, RE or hi-tech.
    •  The event was weill attended, and the venue was magnificent. It was a ggod opportunity to meet people. The only negative was that it was difficult to know who the right people were to network with since their companies and titles were not identified. It was more of a get to know you event than a networking event for that mai reason.
    •  Nice interesting people!!
    •  Great event with lots of people from different professional backgrounds. Nice place, a bit loud.
    •  This was really very good, but there was one serious deficiency. The lighting was terrible. This was a professional gathering, not a date. There was no need for the low "romantic" lighting. What's the point of giving out business cards if there is not enough light to be able to read them?
    • Alverta Walton (+2 guests)
It is an excellent event to meet ,like minded business people.
    • George (+1 guest)
Great Venue. Large group with plenty of opportunity to meet new people.
    • Susan Risdal (+3 guests)
This was huge! More people than we could ever hope to meet. The setup was perfect for this kind of event.
    •  My first introduction to "speed networking." Lovely venue.
    •  As always Andrew threw a great event!!! The venue was nice and upscale..although $6.00 for a tiny glass of Diet Coke??? Great turn out..made some good contacts.
    •  Excellent meetup, nice people, and nice location! Andrew, good job as usual!!
    •  Overall it was great. Beautiful place, great meetup staff, nice people, reasonably priced. Thank you, Andrew. The only thing that would've made it better for me is if it was a little brighter for chatting, and if it was more small biz entrepreneurs following their passions than representatives of financial institutions or lots of marketing but that's just for me since my interest is more holistic health / self development or dance event connections. The people were all nice and interesting, though.
    • Dan Tucker (+1 guest)
Overall, great venue and a great attendence list. A quicker check in would have been great, and would appreciate the opportunity to track down potential contacts within my industry. Would be good if the name tags had a name/ interest designation. That said, it is quite fun meeting entrepreneurs in completely different lines of business as well. Great energy, and will attend again.
    •  Well was aspecting more potential people
    •  I found that there was limited opportunity for my business with the people I was interfacing with. In general they seemed to be in the pre-startup phase. In some cases they were looking for funding before have any significant number of sales. I think if it were possible to prescreen the profiles of the attendees to help the most logical connections meet would be unique and helpful
